Why Friendly Connectors?
Social isolation and loneliness are intersecting, yet distinct phenomena. Social isolation refers to a lack of high quality and quantity of social contacts, whereas loneliness is defined as a subjective feeling of isolation, despite the size of an individual’s social network (Reference Cotterell, Buffel and Phillipson 2018).

A survey conducted by Canadian Coalition for Seniors Mental Health reported that over 94% of seniors are aware that loneliness can deteriorate their mental and physical health.
At BCS the Friendly connectors program offers a unique and transparent service to provide hope, support, care, compassion through a holistic approach. We pride ourselves on ongoing training, providing flexibility, and continuous evaluation.
